Anyway to smooth mouse movement on COD: Modern Warfare. It is ok for normal use but what do you think about gaming.

Please share your experiences with Quake and Mac OS X.Īnd do you use different mouse drivers like steerermouse to get 4 5 buttons working and acceleration off? Hows it working if so? the slow stream of games to the Mac is at least as much Apples fault as it is the developers. If you got some good setups and confs please also share them!Īfaik ezQuake sucks pretty hard OSX if it even runs today. This is mainly because there's no OSX developers, or actually, there's no developers left at all (except for me, but I'm mostly busy with other stuff). I've gotten myself a Mac Mini too but I've got little to no time to focus on making ezQuake (or my version of it) work on OSX unfortunately. On the other hand I know that fodquake is supposed to run really smooth on OSX since Tuna/bigfoot has fixed mouse input and a lot of other things there. So I think it works pretty fine, but better talk to Tuna I think (#fodquake on Quakenet).

There is some errors at the end of nQuake Mac OS X package installation. Os x smoothmouse mac os x#Ĭonverting Mac OS X specific files or something.

Had this error with old Mac Mini and MacBook pro. He insists that, due to the way Windows mouse acceleration works, it can't even be replicated by special tools like SteerMouse or CursorSense. Ok now I downloaded nQuake package for this laptop for testing but ezquake-binary doesnt start. The developer of SmoothMouse insists that it isn't easy to apply Windows-like acceleration without a tool like SmoothMouse constantly running. Now I also see the lag and jump issues when a model has several scenes. Note: You need to click back in the virtual machine for your mouse to be recognized. From the Optimize mouse for games dropdown menu, choose Always. Other downloaded from EzQuake site crashes when you start new game. Go to Edit > Preferences from the VMware Workstation user interface. However, the identical model orbits smoothly when opened in SU 2015. This suggests that SU changed something in 2016 (maybe something that was supposed to be an optimization) and it runs afoul of something else that Apple changed in OS X 10.11.4. Ok but where do I put fodquake binary? W_load_wad_file, Could not load gfx wad file, thats the error msg it says when starting.

I moved it to my nQuake install directory.ĮDIT: Here is some install help I ll give it another try.ĮDIT2: OK I just needed to put pak files to one fodquake dir and the fodquake is running "fine" atleast on this more powerful Macbook pro (Not my computer). Upon upgrading to OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) the OS began interpreting single mouse clicks as double-clicks. I am familiar with ezQuake and got confs and skins there. For example, a single click intended to highlight a file name in Finder now causes the file to open instead. Or when clicking 'send' in gmail, both the current message and the next message in the draft mail queue are sent (with embarassing.

Its worth noting that USB Overdrive 5 is still beta software at this point. Little things like this make the world of a difference.Could you give me some help where to put them or could I use them with fodquake? Thanks for the help in advance. (USB used to give 'normal' Apple tracking) Only after reading this article, have I realized that that the tracking I get from my natively supported wireless Microsoft mouse is 'normal' as in the same tracking used in Windows & Linux.

Back in the days of Tiger/L/SL, I used to use a PS2 kext specifically to use the PS2 port to get normal tracking. When did a USB replacement mouse get the tracking sorted? I have lost track.

This results in the typical Mac user swiping like a lunatic to get places. The way Apple designed the movements is based on how fast you swipe the mouse as to how far the cursor travels. Wherever I have had to work on a Mac, I have always replaced the Apple mouse with a generic USB mouse. That and their unergonomic mouse designs which are designed for people with small hands and delicate fingers. It is the one thing I have always hated about Macs. So the difference was intentional and therefore, noticeable. Apple made it clear a long time ago that their tracking control is way more innovative and intuitive than other OS's. I don't get anyone not noticing the tracking difference in OSX as opposed to other OS's.
